Job description
A Tippi Toes Dance Instructor travels to different locations throughout their assigned territory within DuPage County to teach dance classes to children between 2.5-8 years old. Classes are between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. We will work with you to schedule around your availability.
Candidates must have a love of young children and be confident in teaching young dancers. Responsibilities include traveling to a variety of dance locations, preparing for classes, teaching set curriculum, and developing a positive rapport with all students, families, and school staff. Dance curriculum/choreography is provided and includes ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop.
Starting pay is $20/class with scheduled pay increases at 3 and 6 months. Pay for initial training, monthly trainings/meetings etc... is $18/hr.

Position Responsibilities:
- Reviews assigned curriculum and practices lesson plans prior to class (no choreography creation involved in this position)
- Follows all Tippi Toes curriculum, playlists, and lesson plans
- Comes to each class in proper dress code, and allows appropriate time for set up
- Teaches class with enthusiasm and positivity that encourages student participation, interaction, and fun
- Works with School Director to regularly add new students to current and future classes, maximizing attendance levels.
- Collaborates regularly with fellow Tippi Toes teachers and owner
Position Requirements:
- Must have a current driver’s license and access to a reliable car
- Must be willing to go through background checks and drug test
- A background of working with or teaching children, or a desire to do so
- Tenacity and self-motivation: high energy level, self-starter with a positive attitude
- 3 years of Dance or Performance experience (dance, theatre, cheer, etc.)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
