Tiny Star is a new-era creative literacy education program that empowers children turn their creativity into real books, lifelong confidence, and a creator identity. Our programs are delivered on-site through public schools and town recreation departments, extending beyond the classroom into real-world experiences, including book showcases and exposure to the creative industry. Tiny Star currently operates at 8 school sites across 4 districts in Massachusetts and is rapidly expanding. Our mission is to build a nationally leading brand in children’s creative authorship. Position: Young Author Lab Instructors
Tiny Star is seeking warm, creative educators who love helping children grow through storytelling, art, and authorship. Retired elementary school teachers, educators, or educators in training with experience in elementary school education are warmly encouraged to apply.
Teaching Locations
Wellesley, Wayland, Weston, Belmont
Teaching Schedule
Summer-school time slots include (Starts from August):
- 8/3-8-7, 8/10-8/14 4:15 PM-6:45 PM (Belmont )
- 8/24-28 9:30–12:30 PM (Weston)
After-school time slots include (Starts from September) :
- 2:45–4:15 PM (Weston)
- 4:30–6:00 PM (Belmont)
- 3:10–4:10 PM (Wellesley)
- 3:10–4:10 PM (Wayland)
Teaching Responsibilities
- Deliver structured classes using ready-to-use lesson plans and teaching materials
- Support students in storytelling, writing, illustration, and presenting their own books
- Maintain strong classroom management to create a focused, positive, and engaging learning environment
- Manage the pace of each student’s creative process to ensure all students complete their books within 5-8 lessons
- Communicate briefly with parents after each class regarding student progress
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced educators preferred
- Educators-in-training, graduate students, and aspiring teachers with experience working with children ages 6–10 are encouraged to apply
- Background in education, literacy, creative writing, literature, art, or related fields
- Warm, creative, and engaging personality
- Passion for helping children build confidence through storytelling and creativity
- Strong spoken and written English (native or fluent)
