Tiny Chefs is excited to offer a fantastic summer opportunity for teachers and college students who love working with kids and enjoy cooking! We are seeking energetic, organized, dependable, and enthusiastic team members to lead culinary arts classes at our summer camps all throughout the DMV.
This is a seasonal summer position, with full-week camps running June–August. Instructors must be available for at least 3 full weeks of the summer. For candidates seeking additional responsibility and leadership experience, there is also an opportunity to serve as a Site Coordinator.

What You’ll Do (Instructor Role)
As a Tiny Chefs instructor, you’ll guide campers through fun, hands-on cooking experiences. Using our provided equipment and curriculum, you will:
- Teach students how to prepare delicious recipes step-by-step
- Introduce campers to ingredients and basic culinary concepts
- Demonstrate kitchen safety and cooking techniques
- Foster important social skills such as teamwork, communication, following directions, and good manners
- Incorporate outdoor play and non-cooking activities to complement culinary lessons

Additional Responsibilities (Site Coordinator Role)
Site Coordinators take on a leadership role supporting camp operations and staff. Responsibilities include:
- Provide ongoing staff training and ensure quality control for summer camps
- Serve as the main point of contact for program logistics at the school site
- Act as a liaison between parents, instructors, school administration, and students
- Manage communications to the school and participating families
- Pick up and transport supplies to camp locations
- Grocery shop for camps and coordinate supply drop-offs with instructors
- Ensure each camp site is fully stocked with necessary ingredients and materials
- Review inventory at the end of each week to determine needs and reduce food waste
- Store select perishable items (if needed) for use in the following week
Program Details
- Hours: Approximately 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Camp Dates: June–August
- Compensation: $18–$25 per hour (the higher rates apply for Site Coordinators based on experience)
Requirements
- Must pass Federal and State background checks (additional checks may be required depending on school policies)
- Reliable transportation is required
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and enthusiasm for working with children
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Tiny Chefs will be hosting an important training and orientation on Sunday, June 7th at the Tiny Chef Studio in Alexandria, VA. This session is designed to get everyone fully prepared for the upcoming summer camps, so attendance is strongly encouraged. We would like everyone to be able to attend. This will be a paid training, compensated at the designated training rate.
