About Tin Can

At Tin Can, we're giving kids the freedom and social independence we had growing up —without smartphones. Our screen-free phone is a remix of the classic landline, built for today's world: private, safe, and fun. Parents get peace of mind, kids get autonomy.

Word of mouth has always been at the heart of Tin Can’s growth. From parents sharing with other parents to kids rallying their friends, our product spreads when people see and feel its impact. Influencers, creators, and brand partners are an extension of that community—trusted voices who can amplify our mission in authentic ways.

The Role

We’re looking for an Influencer Marketing Specialist to expand Tin Can’s reach by building relationships with creators, growing an affiliate program, and identifying brand partnerships that amplify our mission. This role blends relationship-building, strategy, and execution—you’ll identify and secure influencers, help manage partnerships, and craft campaigns that feel authentic and scalable.

You’ll be responsible for developing the programs and playbooks that allow Tin Can to leverage influencers and partners as a core growth channel. From micro-communities of parents to well-known creators and aligned brands, you’ll help Tin Can show up in ways that feel trusted, human, and culturally relevant. This role reports directly to the Head of Brand Strategy & Communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influencer Identification & Outreach: Research and identify creators and advocates whose values and audiences align with Tin Can. Build long-term relationships.
  • Affiliate Program Creation & Management: Design, launch, and grow an affiliate program that rewards advocates for driving awareness and sales. Manage recruitment, onboarding, tracking, and reporting.
  • Campaign Development: Co-create campaigns with influencers and partners that authentically showcase Tin Can and spark engagement across social and community channels.
  • Partnership Strategy: Identify and negotiate brand partnerships that help Tin Can expand its reach.
  • Program Management: With the support of the communications team, oversee influencer activations from start to finish—including contracts, creative briefs, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Track the success of influencer and partnership campaigns. Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing reach, engagement, and ROI.
  • Community Amplification: Collaborate with the social media team to amplify influencer content, repurpose posts, and maximize campaign visibility.
  • Trendspotting: Stay ahead of creator economy and affiliate marketing trends, identifying opportunities to experiment and innovate.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with other colleagues to ensure influencer and affiliate efforts align with overall brand goals and messaging.

What We’re Looking For

  • Influencer Marketing Experience: You’ve managed influencer programs (micro and macro) and understand what makes partnerships successful.
  • Affiliate Program Knowledge: Familiar with affiliate platforms, structures, and best practices for scaling referral-driven growth.
  • Relationship Builder: Skilled at connecting with people, building trust, and creating authentic long-term partnerships.
  • Creative Strategist: Able to develop compelling campaign ideas that feel natural to both the influencer and their audience.
  • Organized Operator: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns and partnerships at once.
  • Data-Informed: Comfortable using metrics to evaluate performance, measure ROI, and iterate on strategy.
  • Startup DNA: Comfortable moving fast, wearing multiple hats, and working with a small, mission-driven team.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building influencer/affiliate programs for consumer hardware or family/parenting brands
  • Existing network of creators in the parenting, family, or lifestyle spaces
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing budgets for influencer partnerships
  • Comfort producing or directing influencer content (video, photography, unboxing, etc.)

Why Join Tin Can?

  • Amplify a Movement: Help build a cultural conversation around kids, connection, and independence.
  • Creative Ownership: Shape and scale Tin Can’s influencer and partnership strategy from the ground up.
  • Small Team, Big Vision: Work closely with the marketing leadership to define a key growth channel.
  • Mission that Matters: Every kid should have the chance to grow up with more connection and less screen time.
