Position Overview: Build What's Next

Timothy Christian Schools is seeking a visionary and passionate educator to launch and lead our new high school STEM program as the AI – STEM Program Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking Christian leader to build a dynamic, hands-on program from the ground up, shaping the next generation of innovators, designers, and problem-solvers for God's glory.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for AI and STEM education. You will not only teach our core Innovation and Design Lab (IDL) courses but also cast a vision for a thriving, comprehensive AI – STEM program that will eventually span grades 6-12. If you are excited by the intersection of faith, technology, and hands-on learning—and are eager to explore innovative and emerging fields like AI and robotics within a Biblically-rooted framework—we invite you to apply.

Our mission is to uphold Biblical truth, ignite academic growth, and inspire courageous leadership, one student at a time. This role is central to that mission.

Key Responsibilities

Program Vision & Leadership

  • Develop & Execute a Vision: In collaboration with school leadership, design and implement a strategic vision for a nationally-recognized, Christ-centered STEM program.
  • Curriculum Innovation: Create and launch new, engaging AI-integrated STEM courses and pathways that challenge students and prepare them for future careers.
  • Program Growth: Lead the expansion of the STEM program, with a long-term goal of creating a cohesive and integrated curriculum for grades 6-12.
  • Stay Current: Actively research and integrate emerging technologies and trends, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainable design, ensuring the program remains relevant and forward-thinking.
  • Communication: Coordinate with the Director of Technology, Directors of Curriculum, and Director of Student Life to ensure alignment of school-wide goals and resources.

Teaching & Mentorship

  • Lead Innovation & Design Lab (IDL) Courses: Instruct students in our state-of-the-art lab, teaching a unique curriculum that blends traditional woodworking skills with modern technology like AI, 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC routers.
  • Foster a Design Thinking Mindset: Guide students through the iterative design thinking process, empowering them to identify problems, brainstorm creative solutions, and prototype their ideas.
  • Mentor Student-Led Projects: Facilitate advanced, self-directed projects for upper-level students, allowing them to pursue their individual interests and passions within the AI and STEM fields.
  • Disciple Students: Model a vibrant Christian faith and integrate a Biblical worldview into all aspects of teaching and mentorship, encouraging students to see their technical skills as a means to serve God and their community.
  • Staff Training: Provide training and coaching around both staff and students' use of AI as a learning tool
  • Co-Curricular and Extracurricular Support: Supervise and support students’ participation in Career Technical Student Organizations. This could include continuing existing activities, like VEX Robotics, or expanding offerings through an organization like Technical Student Association (TSA).

Qualifications & Attributes

  • A Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ: A strong, demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and an alignment with the mission and values of Timothy Christian School.
  • Passion for AI and STEM: A genuine excitement for science, technology, engineering, and math, with a desire to inspire that same passion in students.
  • Technical Aptitude: Experience or a strong willingness to learn and master tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and various design software. Knowledge of AI and robotics is a significant plus.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in education, engineering, industrial arts, technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior secondary-level teaching experience is strongly preferred, particularly in project-based or hands-on learning environments.
  • Visionary & Entrepreneurial Spirit: The ability to think creatively, build new things, and lead a program with initiative and drive.
