The Inventory Analyst Intern will analyze inventory data, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Identify root causes of inventory variances through transaction research
- Propose solutions and process improvements to prevent reoccurring issues
- Recommend changes to cycle count program based on results
- Review inventory issues (e.g., negative balances, on-hand discrepancies) and identify root causes
- Review Material Usage Variance (MUV) and understand how and why materials are over-issued or under-issued
- Collaborate with Engineering Department to validate bill of materials (BOMs) with physical samples
- Review cost discrepancies in counts (conversion transactions)
- Review account alias transactions for accuracy
- Evaluate key inventory process steps (e.g., cable completion, issuing materials to work orders, multiple work order releases for the same part numbers)
- Recent graduates or currently enrolled in college/university programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficient with computer software, including online platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to achieving operational goals.
