Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Sales Representative who will drive business growth while also serving as a backup dispatcher and supporting in-office operations. This on site role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and is comfortable balancing sales responsibilities with operational support.
Sales Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Salesperson, located in Houston, TX. The Salesperson will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new leads, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and presenting tailored solutions to meet customer needs. Daily tasks include managing customer inquiries, generating sales reports, and collaborating with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends and representing the company at industry events.
Dispatch & Operations Support (Backup Role)
- Assist with load planning and carrier assignment when needed
- Communicate with carriers and drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Track shipments and proactively resolve issues or delays
- Support documentation processes (rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, etc.)
- Step in as dispatcher during peak periods, absences, or high-volume days
Qualifications
- Strong sales acumen, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability in customer relationship management and client retention
- Proficiency in market research and lead generation
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in sales software and CRM tools is highly desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently
- Previous experience in the transportation or service industry is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred
Compensation
Base Salary Commission
$25,000-$45,000 base ( based on experience )
% commission on sales
Pay: $25,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
