We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable customer-focused individual to join our team as a Automotive Body Shop Parts Counterperson at Team One GMC Chevrolet dealership. As a vital member of our automotive body shop and parts department, you will be responsible for assisting technicians and customers with parts inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely parts orders, and maintaining an organized and efficient parts department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers and technicians at the parts counter in selecting and ordering correct parts.
- Look up parts using electronic catalog systems and verify availability and pricing.
- Process parts orders, returns, and invoices accurately and promptly.
- Maintain inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as needed.
- Receive and shelve parts deliveries, ensuring parts are labeled and stored properly.
- Build strong relationships with vendors, customers, and service staff.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in an automotive parts or retail sales role is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and their functions is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with parts lookup software.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
