Position Summary:
The HR Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, employee onboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, employee relations, and benefits administration. This role supports store managers and staff across multiple locations and helps maintain a positive, organized, and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:Recruitment & Onboarding
- Post job openings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure proper completion of required documentation.
- Assist store managers in hiring seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Track employee time off, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws (e.g. FMLA, OSHA, EEO).
Employee Relations
- Support conflict resolution and promote a positive company culture.
- Handle employee complaints with discretion and professionalism.
- Guide managers and staff on company policies and procedures.
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Work with payroll provider (e.g., ADP) to ensure timesheets are accurate and processed on time.
- Assist employees with questions related to pay, benefits, and company policies.
- Maintain benefit enrollment documentation and coordinate open enrollment periods.
Training & Development
- Assist in developing training materials and company guidebooks.
- Help implement performance improvement plans when needed.
- Support safety training, store policy compliance, and company-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience using payroll or HR software systems ADP
