Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for mid-market corporations (1120/1120S), partnerships (1065), and high-net-worth individuals/trusts (1040/1041).
- Conduct trial balance adjustments, make journal entries, and compile working papers to bridge client bookkeeping directly to tax software.
- Serve as a frontline advisor, answering client compliance inquiries and managing their informational data requests.
- Run annual tax projections and implement strategic tax-saving maneuvers to minimize liabilities for private business owners.
- Supervise staff accountants, assign engagement files based on their skill sets, and review their completed work papers.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of progressive tax compliance experience within a public accounting firm environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license or plans to sit for the exam.
- Daily proficiency using standard mid-market tax engines such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or GoSystem.
- Strong communication skills necessary to translate complex tax rules into clear business advice for business owners.
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
