Senior Accountant
A leading professional services company on Long Island is actively seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their rapidly growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and the ability to help manage the month-end close process and prepare financial statements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasting.
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, inventory, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage and review the accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting and financial reporting.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Salary : $78,500 - $96,000
