A multi-family office in New York City is seeking a Family Office Accountant due to recent growth! In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial support to high-net-worth individuals and their families while ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of financial information. Note: this role is in office four days per week and one day work from home (Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Process daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank accounts
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients
- Collaborate with other members of the finance team to resolve any issues and ensure the integrity of financial information
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement any necessary changes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience
- Experience with high net/ultra high net worth family office accounting strongly preferred
- Ability and experience to prepare financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow
- In depth understanding of GAAP rules and requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to clients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting software or ERP systems beyond Quickbooks is strongly preferred
