Project Manager 5 – Strategic Distribution (Business PM)

Location: Hybrid – Springfield, MA (preferred) | Boston candidates must travel to Springfield during onboarding

Our team is seeking an experienced Business Project Manager to support initiatives with external distribution partners across Life, DI, and Annuity products. This is not an IT project management role. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, exceptional organization, and the confidence to manage high-value external relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Manage a portfolio of business initiatives supporting third-party distributors
• Lead projects related to new firm onboarding, product launches, regulatory initiatives, and distributor-requested changes
• Coordinate across Compliance, Operations, IT, Marketing, and Sales
• Provide clear, transparent project status reporting to internal leadership and external partners
• Drive execution in a fast-paced, highly regulated financial services environment

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a business-focused Project Manager (IT-only PM backgrounds are not a fit)
• Strong organizational and process management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Confident, direct communicator comfortable delivering both positive and challenging updates
• Experience in financial services; annuity experience strongly preferred
• Collaborative, low-ego team player who can operate effectively in a matrixed organization

Location & Onboarding

• Hybrid role with a strong preference for Springfield, MA
• Boston-based hires must spend their initial onboarding weeks in Springfield for team integration
• Structured 90-day onboarding plan with progressive responsibility

Nice to Have

• Experience working with external distributors or sales partners
• Exposure to Life, DI, or Annuity products
• PMO or portfolio management experience (PMP not required)
