Business Analyst 5598

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support complex policy conversion and migration initiatives. This role will work across business and technology teams to define requirements, develop conversion and mapping logic, support testing, and ensure data and regulatory accuracy as policies are migrated from legacy systems to a target policy administration platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis skills, experience with policy administration or policy migration, and the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, developers, ETL teams, and technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Define business and system scope and objectives for policy conversion, target system, and downstream system workstreams based on user needs and applicable industry and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate, document, and translate business needs into clear business and system requirements.
• Develop or modify conversion rules, mapping logic, and system procedures to address complex issues between legacy source systems and target policy administration platforms.
• Analyze business and user needs and translate requirements into specifications for extraction, ETL, transaction files, and target system conversion logic.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, ETL teams, and technology partners to identify and resolve conversion-related issues.
• Provide guidance and support to less-experienced Business Analysts working on conversion, target system, and downstream system initiatives.
• Analyze policy migration requirements while considering business impacts associated with new products and functionality being introduced to the target system.
• Partner with development teams to formulate technical requirements for new target system functionality supporting migrated and newly created products.
• Ensure data, calculation, and regulatory accuracy throughout the conversion and cycle-up process.
• Audit and balance converted policy data between source and target systems and investigate discrepancies.
• Develop a strong understanding of conversion logic, cycle-up methodology, and calculations used across source and target policy administration systems.
• Participate in meetings with policy administration system vendors regarding functionality required to support migrated products.
• Consult with business and IT teams to resolve issues identified during conversion testing, audit and balance activities, and production.
• Participate in test planning, development, and execution for conversion, integration, and application testing.
• Understand technical dependencies across conversion, target, and downstream systems and help develop solutions to migration challenges.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to influence and align requirements across conversion, target system, and downstream workstreams.
• Lead or consult on escalated conversion and production support issues, including root cause analysis.
• Assist business and technology team members in understanding conversion, target system, and downstream system requirements.
• Manage multiple project tasks independently in a fast-paced environment supporting complex, high-volume policy migrations.
• Participate throughout all phases of migration project planning, development, testing, audit, and balancing activities.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, strong business acumen, collaboration, and the ability to work through complex challenges.

Qualifications

• Strong Business Analysis experience supporting complex system implementations, conversions, or migrations.
• Experience working with policy administration systems and/or insurance-related systems.
• Experience documenting business and system requirements and translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Understanding of data conversion, ETL processes, mapping logic, and system interfaces.
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, audit, and balancing activities.
• Experience supporting system testing, including conversion, integration, and application testing.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
• Experience working with high-volume data or policy migrations is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance industry and regulatory requirements is preferred.
