Commercial Roofing Service Technician
About the Role
Tiello is partnering with a well-established and growing commercial roofing contractor to identify an experienced Commercial Roofing Service Technician to support service, repair, maintenance, and leak investigation work across commercial properties.
This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands commercial roofing systems, can troubleshoot problems independently, and takes pride in completing quality repairs while providing strong service to customers.
Position Overview
As a Commercial Roofing Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing leaks, completing roof repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and identifying roofing deficiencies across commercial facilities.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with multiple commercial roofing systems and is comfortable working independently or alongside a small service crew. You should be able to assess a roofing issue, determine the source of the problem, complete the appropriate repair, and clearly document the work performed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform commercial roof inspections, service calls, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and identify sources of roof leaks and water intrusion
- Complete repairs on existing commercial roofing systems
- Identify roofing deficiencies and recommend appropriate repairs
- Work with commercial low-slope roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, coatings, and metal roofing
- Repair flashing, penetrations, seams, drains, curbs, rooftop equipment areas, and other common leak points
- Document jobsite conditions, repairs, materials used, and additional work that may be needed
- Take before-and-after photos and maintain accurate service documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, facility teams, and internal leadership
- Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures at all times
- Properly use and maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials
- Assist with emergency leak calls and additional service work as needed
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites
Qualifications
- 1 years of hands-on commercial roofing experience preferred
- OPEN TO RECENT GRADS WITH CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT DEGREES
- Experience in commercial roofing service, repair, maintenance, or leak investigation strongly preferred
- Knowledge of commercial low-slope roofing systems
- Experience with TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, coatings, and/or commercial metal roofing
- Ability to diagnose leaks and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Comfortable working on active commercial roofs and at heights
- Strong understanding of roofing safety and fall-protection requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service assignments
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to document work through photos, service reports, and job notes
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift roofing materials, tools, and equipment as required
