The company takes an integrated approach to development, design, engineering, and construction, allowing its engineering team to remain closely involved throughout the entire lifecycle of a project.

With an active development pipeline and an experienced in-house team, the organization is looking to add a Project Civil Engineer who can take ownership of day-to-day civil engineering activities while collaborating closely with architecture, development, construction, and outside consultants.

Position Overview

The company is seeking an experienced Project Civil Engineer with a strong background in site design, land development, and civil construction documents.

This is a hands-on engineering position. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and comfortable working in CAD on a daily basis while also taking ownership of project coordination and technical decision-making.

The Project Civil Engineer will lead civil/site planning, design coordination, permitting support, consultant oversight, and construction documentation for new and existing developments.

This individual should be capable of leading the day-to-day civil activities of assigned projects with minimal direction while working collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day civil engineering activities for assigned projects with minimal direction
• Develop and evaluate conceptual site layouts for potential development opportunities
• Prepare complete civil construction document packages and ensure drawings are permit-ready and constructible
• Perform site grading, drainage, stormwater detention calculations, utility planning, and utility sizing
• Produce and manage civil/site designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis
• Coordinate civil drawings with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines
• Research and interpret municipal codes, zoning requirements, and regulatory standards across multiple jurisdictions
• Coordinate permitting and site approvals with local municipalities and regulatory agencies
• Apply ADA Standards for Accessible Design throughout site planning and construction documentation
• Manage civil project deliverables and proactively address design, permitting, utility, and constructability issues
• Coordinate with and review work completed by outside civil engineering consultants
• Participate in construction administration, including submittal reviews, quality control, and site visits
• Collaborate closely with development, architecture, engineering, construction, consultants, contractors, and vendors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering – REQUIRED
• Professional Engineer (PE) license – REQUIRED
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency – REQUIRED
• Must be comfortable performing hands-on CAD work daily
• Site design and land development construction document experience – REQUIRED
• Experience completing projects across a variety of jurisdictions
• Experience with conceptual site layouts and site planning
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, stormwater detention, and utility design
• Strong understanding of ADA Standards for Accessible Design
• Experience with permitting and municipal approvals
• Ability to lead day-to-day project activities with minimal direction
• Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative within a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
