Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Coordinator. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance verification and preauthorization processes. Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to the appointment by contacting insurance carriers, prior to services.
- Obtain preauthorization and referrals.
- Collaborate with medical offices for timely verification, prior to the appointment.
- Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD -10, and other relevant medical coding information.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans, and regulatory requirements affecting coverage verification.
- Ensure all documentation related to insurance verification and preauthorization is complete, accurate, and entered into the EMR software.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality rules related to patient information.
- Contribute to a positive office environment by providing excellent customer service to patients and colleagues alike.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office, verifying insurance benefits and obtaining preauthorization, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of managed care systems, insurance verification procedures, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience handling insurance claims processing or working within healthcare enhances suitability for this role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting are required. Attention to detail is a must-have.
- Excellent communication skills with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff are necessary.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
