Summary
Tide Rock is a San Diego-based unleveraged buyout firm that acquires and grows a portfolio of operating companies. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at Tide Rock GrowCo, LLC. This role supports the full-cycle accounting function across Tide Rock's top-level entities and portfolio companies, working closely with the Senior Manager, Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely close processes, and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & General Ledger
- Process month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for all Tide Rock top-level entities.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package.
- Perform intercompany journal entries in NetSuite and reconcile monthly.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure adherence to US GAAP.
Accounts Payable & Cash Management
- Process AP invoices and daily transactions in NetSuite and Ramp.
- Prepare weekly AP check run requests, including ACH and wire transfer setup.
- Obtain monthly vendor statements and reconcile against the AP aging.
- Process monthly portfolio company invoices and apply cash received.
- Grant user permissions in the banking portal and Ramp.
- Audit and approve GL coding of expense reports using the Ramp platform.
- Process quarterly distribution payments to investors.
Portfolio Company & Intercompany Accounting
- Manage the monthly allocation spreadsheet for billing portfolio companies.
- Prepare RLOC borrowing requests for portfolio company loans; update interest tracking spreadsheet and record in NetSuite.
- Support treasury activities with portfolio companies, including cash movements, intercompany billings, funding requests, and repayments.
Audit, Tax, & Compliance
- Assist with annual tax workpapers, payments, and notices.
- Support annual audit preparation, including PBC (prepared by client) item requests.
- Assist with back-office procedure documentation and standardization.
Additional Responsibilities
- Serve as backup to the office manager for administrative duties as needed.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with full-cycle accounts payable, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
- Advanced Excel skills; ability to work with large data sets and multi-entity reporting.
- Experience with expense management platforms (e.g., Expensify) and banking portals.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a small, high-performing team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting background a plus.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Experience in a multi-entity or private equity environment preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
- On-site position based in Solana Beach, CA.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
