License & Qualification Requirements:
- Active Arkansas Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent out-of-state license with applicable reciprocity)
- Proficient in using multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers for circuit diagnostics and issue handling
- Previous experience with temporary electrical systems, outdoor lighting, event lighting, or similar electrical maintenance is preferred
Scope of Work
This position is limited to the operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of pre-installed temporary lantern exhibits during the GloWild event. The electrician shall NOT modify any building permanent electrical panel, fixed wiring, or infrastructure.
Specific duties include:
- Energize and de-energize pre-wired lantern groups via designated disconnect points
- Troubleshoot open circuits, short circuits, ground faults, tripped breakers, loose connections, failed modules, and other on-site electrical malfunctions using appropriate diagnostic equipment
- Perform basic lantern set maintenance, including tightening external fittings and resealing weatherproof connectors
- Conduct visual inspection of lantern structures for obvious tilt, displacement, damage, or other safety concerns
- Conduct routine inspections of lantern electrical connections and temporary power systems during event operation
- Maintain daily inspection and maintenance logs and report all findings to the Onsite Operations Coordinator
- Communicate promptly with the onsite operations team regarding electrical or lantern-related issues
- Respond to unexpected lantern failures or other urgent electrical maintenance issues as needed and coordinate with the Onsite Operations Coordinator
Schedule:
Duration: October 29, 2026 – January 3, 2027
Work Days: 47 scheduled GloWild operating days
Shift: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (6 hours), on scheduled event operating days
GloWild Operating Hours: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Last Admission: 8:30 PM
The electrician will work only on scheduled GloWild operating days. The regular shift includes pre-opening inspection and preparation, during-show monitoring and troubleshooting, and post-closing shutdown and inspection.
In the event of unexpected lantern failures or other urgent electrical issues, the electrician may be required to communicate with the onsite operations team and respond as needed outside the regular shift. Any additional response will be coordinated with the Onsite Operations Coordinator.
Schedule Breakdown:
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Pre-Opening):
Energize all lantern circuits; verify proper operation; conduct visual and electrical inspections; perform any needed pre-opening repairs
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (During Show):
Patrol lantern areas on scheduled rounds; monitor electrical systems; log any issues; troubleshoot and resolve on-site electrical problems, including tripped breakers, loose connections, failed modules, and other electrical malfunctions; report issues to the coordinator
9:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Closing):
De-energize all lantern circuits as directed; secure all temporary disconnect points; conduct post-show inspection; complete end-of-shift inspection and maintenance log
Hourly rate: $30 - $35 commensurate with experience/qualifications
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
