Employment Duration: Regular, Full-time (Monday to Friday 8-5 pm)

Salary: $19-$20/hour

As an Apartment Painter, you play a crucial role in ensuring the overall satisfaction and well-being of our residents. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of painting tasks related to apartment occupancy, building maintenance, move-ins, move-outs, unit turns, work orders, drywall, and providing exceptional customer service. Your technical expertise and dedication to quality workmanship will contribute to creating a comfortable and enjoyable living environment for our residents.

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS:

Surface Preparation

1. Clean, sand, scrape, or wash surfaces to remove dirt, old paint, or rust.
2. Repair cracks, holes, or other imperfections using caulk, putty, or plaster.
3. Mask and tape areas not to be painted (windows, trim, flooring).

Painting Application

1. Apply primer or sealant to prepare surfaces.
2. Mix and match paints to achieve the desired color and texture.
3. Apply paint, varnish, stains, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
4. Apply multiple coats as needed, ensuring even and professional coverage.

Detail & Finishing Work

1. Perform touch-ups and finishing tasks for a clean look.
2. Paint trim, baseboards, doors, cabinets, and railings with precision.
3. Ensure a uniform appearance with no drips, streaks, or blemishes.

Maintenance Painting

1. Repaint or touch up areas in high-traffic or worn spaces.
2. Assist with repainting vacant units and common areas in apartment settings.

Safety & Clean-Up

1. Ensure proper ventilation and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. Store paints and chemicals safely according to OSHA guidelines.
3. Clean brushes, tools, and workspaces after completion of each job.

Project Coordination

1. Communicate timelines and updates with the supervisor or property manager.
2. Estimate the quantity of paint and materials needed.
3. Follow project specifications and client expectations.

Miscellaneous Tasks

1. Assist the maintenance team with minor drywall or carpentry repairs.
2. Support team in preparing units for new residents (make-readies).
3. Move furniture or equipment as needed to access painting areas.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience using equipment, supplies, and materials used in the painting and maintenance field.
• Excellent customer service and passion for helping people.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 90 pounds.
• Attention to safety and the ability to comply with all MSDS Sheets.
• Good communication and attention to detail.
