Position Summary:
TI Automotive is launching a new AI department to drive enterprise-wide transformation through predictive and generative AI solutions. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead this technical charge—someone who combines deep machine learning expertise with strong leadership and business acumen, particularly in the automotive supplier space.

Key Responsibilities:
- Translate complex business challenges into high-impact predictive and generative AI use cases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, IT, and business functions to align AI efforts with organizational priorities.
- Lead a team of machine learning engineers to design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI solutions across various business domains.
- Mentor and grow a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Provide technical direction in model architecture selection, training strategy, performance evaluation, and deployment.
- Oversee development and optimization of ML pipelines, MLOps workflows, and cloud-native AI platforms (preferably Azure).
- Stay ahead of emerging AI trends—especially in GenAI and Agentic AI—and strategically integrate them where valuable.Ensure responsible AI practices by promoting model explain ability, fairness, and governance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of experience in AI/ML, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience building and deploying AI solutions in the automotive industry, with strong domain knowledge in manufacturing, logistics, or quality systems.
- Deep hands-on expertise in predictive modeling, deep learning (CNNs, Transformers), and GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases).
- Experience leading teams building production-grade ML systems using MLOps practices and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Candidates must reside in the Detroit Metropolitan area and able to work onsite 5 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in deploying predictive solutions in automotive industry or related domains – Manufacturing, Supplychain, Finance etc.
- Experience with agent-based AI systems and applied use of LLMs in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge MLOps, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI practices.
