Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Assisted Living Caregivers to join our team on third shift. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in our assisted living facility, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will assist with daily living activities and foster a positive environment for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and Alzheimer's care.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health status.
- Provide personal care and support to residents while maintaining their dignity and respect.
- Conduct vital sign checks and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness in resident areas and assist with housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Utilize EMR systems for documentation of care provided and resident progress.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely when transferring residents.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of caregiving practices including dementia care, memory care, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and vital sign monitoring is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and developmental challenges.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and team members.
- A valid driver's license may be required for transportation needs within the community.
