A New York-based fundamental long/short fund is looking for one analyst to build and own its TMT coverage.
The fund is backed by a large North American institutional investor, and the fundamental team is being built deliberately and selectively.
The build is being led by a founding team with deep roots in both systematic and fundamental long/short equity — a CIO who spent nearly 20 years building quantitative infrastructure at the highest level, and a director of research with a proven PM track record at one of the most respected firms in the industry.
The TMT vertical — internet, software, media, and communications — is open.
There is no existing coverage to inherit and no structure to slot into - this is an opportunity to truly build the franchise.
The role
A focused coverage universe of approximately 40 names.
All models built independently, L/S idea generation with strong allocation from day one, and Direct P&L attribution.
A proprietary optimization layer that handles risk and portfolio construction, leaving you to focus entirely on fundamental research and stock selection.
The profile
Five or more years of buy-side L/S experience in internet, software, media, or communications.
An attributable, verifiable track record - not dependent on a PM's framework to explain.
Full-stack capability.
Single manager backgrounds preferred; multi-manager considered where attribution is clean.
Logistics
New York based.
Must have the right to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
