Duties

- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and organize products to maintain an attractive store appearance
- Conduct upselling by recommending additional products or accessories to maximize sales opportunities
- Manage inventory levels through stocking and merchandising to ensure product availability and presentation standards are met
- Utilize strong phone etiquette when answering questions or assisting customers remotely
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts to ensure smooth store operations
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated ability to perform retail math accurately for sales transactions and inventory management
- Strong communication skills in both bilingual (if applicable) and monolingual contexts to serve diverse customers effectively
- Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments is preferred
- Ability to conduct product demos confidently and persuasively to promote sales
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management best practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Familiarity with upselling strategies to enhance sales performance
- Basic math skills necessary for cashiering, balancing registers, and inventory counts
