Full Job Description
Thunderstone Logistics is seeking to hire a full-time Safety Coordinator. We are currently operating a fleet of 55 trucks and are growing. We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual who understands how to monitor and coach drivers on the proper use of ELDs, cameras, and safe driving practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate safety training for company drivers and owner-operators on a monthly basis and after incidents.
- Collaborate closely with the dispatch team for support and development.
- Oversee and manage dash cam behavior daily through Omnitracs software
- Oversee and manage hours of service compliance.
- Monitor driver performance and provide corrective action, coaching, and motivation as needed.
- Audit daily driver logs for accuracy and violations.
- Work with recruiting and terminal management on training schedules and documentation.

- Be available to address safety issues after hours and on weekends as needed.
- Review hours of service records for accuracy.
- Maintain roadside inspection documentation for each driver/vehicle.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety.
- Oversee and monitor the roadside inspection process and reports.
- Intake and manage all auto liability, cargo, and workers' compensation claims.
- Oversee and manage the drug and alcohol testing program.
- Manage CDL monitoring.
- Plan and execute safety meetings and accident reviews.
- Monitor the performance of fuel usage, safety training, and equipment inspections.
- Develop and implement safety initiatives.
- Audit driver files (MVRs, health cards, DOT medical requirements, etc.).
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for company, FMCSA, and DOT requirements.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, training, and supporting the new driver orientation process.
- Support the recruiter and director with onboarding drivers, including driver testing and compliance.
- Assist Director in planning PM and following up on service, & maintenance on the fleet.
- Occasionally drive bobtail trucks around town.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the trucking industry as a DOT safety professional.
- CDL holder (past or present)
- Team Player

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
