What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Server - OC position at THUNDER VALLEY CASINO?
Position Summary:
The Food Server in the Café is responsible for providing a superior dining experience to Guests of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Greet Guests at the table verbally with a warm welcome.
3. Take food and beverage orders from Guests. Describe specials, promotions and featured menu items. Answer menu questions as needed.
4. Make other menu recommendations, up-selling when possible including offering appetizers, desserts, and coffee or other beverages.
5. Provide necessary condiments to Guests before the meals arrive.
6. Pre-bus tables as dishes become available for clearing.
7. Monitor the timeliness of delivery to tables, communicating with food runners when needed.
8. Ensure Guest satisfaction by performing food quality checks and responding immediately to Guest complaints or concerns.
9. Take orders and process into point-of-sale (POS) system, and process Guest check at the end of the meal.
10. Monitor open tables in POS throughout the shift to verify all Guest checks are accounted for.
11. Perform tasks including bussing tables, greeting and seating Guests, side work, and duties assigned by management.
12. Answer phones and provide information as needed.
13. Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
2. Prior restaurant experience serving experience required.
3. Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
4. At least 18 years of age.
5. Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols, including at night.
2. Ability to taste and smell.
3. Requires bending and reaching for supplies and equipment.
4. Ability to transport plates and trays weighing up to 50 lbs.
5. Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
6. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
