This role is essential in maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating communication, and providing excellent service to residents, families, and staff in a compassionate healthcare environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver new admission charts to units and initiate required admission formsFax physicians’ orders daily (from previous shifts) and distribute faxed documents to appropriate departmentsTransfer daily vital signs and weights from assignment sheets to resident chartsMaintain and restock supplies at the nurses’ stationKeep the nurses’ station neat and organizedScreen incoming calls for nursing staff and forward messages appropriatelySchedule physician appointments for residents and relay information to nursing staffInitiate phone calls to physicians, family members, and personnel as directedPerform typing and clerical duties as directed by Nursing AdministrationNotify Food Service of dietary changesMaintain updated bathing schedules for nurse aidesGreet residents, families, visitors, and guests, providing information and directions in accordance with facility policiesOrder medical supplies under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services (DNS)Assist with medical supply requests during the planned absence of the Central Supply ClerkEnsure residents and families receive the highest level of service in a caring and respectful atmosphereCandidate RequirementsAbility to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishStrong knowledge of computer systems, system applications, and office equipmentAbility to make independent decisions when circumstances requireWillingness to learn new methods and incorporate them into existing nursing practicesNursing home experience preferred, but not requiredBenefitsComprehensive Medical & Dental CoverageGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)401(k) Retirement PlanEmployee Recognition ProgramSupportive, team-oriented work environmentCompany perks and employee discountsJoin Throgs Neck Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and become part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in resident care.
