Job Description:

This position is based in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Department with a primary focus on providing general Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) evaluations and treatments which impact a patient's functional abilities. Speech-Language Pathologists are responsible and accountable for patient assessment, evaluation, establishing a plan of care, and therapeutic interventions for a wide range of ages with varying diagnosis and skill needs. Services are provided in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide assessments, evaluations, and therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals.
• Implement, supervise, and modify a therapy plan of care based on patient response.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure appropriate care planning.
• Document patients' encounters, findings, and treatments in accordance with hospital policies.
• Develop, implement, and conduct patient education and therapy programs.
• Participate in community service and outreach, including travel to remote locations as needed.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Licensed by the State of Alaska in the field of Speech Language Pathology.
• CCC-SLP certification.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Pediatrics and Outpatient experience required.
