Immediate need for a Part-Time Physical Therapy Aide in a busy private outpatient physical therapy clinic. Prior PT Aide employment experience and a focused career outlook on Physical Therapy is preferred. Highly desired skills include: excellent communication skills, mature, driven, detail-oriented and organized, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and holds themselves to the highest standard of professionalism.
*Optional: Cross-trained in prior aide employment as well as front office/administrative work experience (scheduling, phone calls, etc). Work shift determined per week as needed. Expected need is currently 12-20 hours per week with possibility for more based on need.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Physical Therapy Aide
Reports to: Owner and Physical Therapist
Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
- assists in preparation of patients for treatment, performs routine clinic cores, and completes specific patient related tasks as instructed by the licensed physical therapist
- cleans, organizes and maintains departmental equipment; keeps all stock items adequately supplied and orders as needed; does laundry throughout day; pulls charts at the end of the day; turns off all equipment at end of the day
- assists front office with charges; answering phones; faxing; maintaining, creating and filing charts; greeting patients; chart audits; scheduling and any other duties required by the front office or management
- attends all department in-services, staff meetings to use educational opportunities to further enhance knowledge of treatment and diagnosis
- maintain all chart form supplies and photocopy and punch holes on a regular schedule
- performs all other duties assigned by manager
- conducts themselves in a way that is in accordance to the company’s core values
Essential Functions:
- demonstrates cooperative work attitude and communicates effectively with co-employees, management, patients, visitor and physicians
- possesses strong initiative to get daily work finished and processed
- is versatile and willing to coordinate with and participate in, when necessary all aspects of the office and clinic
- is courteous, understanding and sympathetic toward patients, physicians, co-workers and others
- participates in the quality improvement process and activities including the areas of safety, medial records maintenance, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, documentation, compliance with OSHA Standards and Risk Management
- maintains regular, on time attendance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- high school graduate or GED equivalent or currently in high school
- knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques preferred
Environmental Conditions:
- Indoors in typical office environment with the little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes approximately ninety-five percent (95%) of the time.
- Outdoors with exposure to noise, heat, and cold approximately five percent (5%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at workstation up to four hours at a time.
- Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
Physical Demands:
- Attendance and punctuality.
- Mobility within the office.
- Ability to walk, sit and stand.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Compensation:
- Pay is based on experience; Listed amount is simply a starting range
