Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Peer Support team member will provide assistance and guidance to individuals through one-on-one support and group sessions. Responsibilities include offering empathetic listening, fostering a safe and supportive environment, assisting individuals with identifying goals, and connecting them to relevant resources. Additional tasks may involve documenting interactions, coordinating with other team members, and participating in relevant training programs to enhance skills.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide customer support in a compassionate, understanding manner
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and providing technical support to effectively assist individuals with their needs
- Analytical skills for assessing individual situations and identifying appropriate resources or solutions
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening ability, and a passion for peer support
- Prior experience in a peer support or similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with mental health resources and community programs is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or training in peer support is a bonus
