Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Behavior Specialist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide expert behavioral therapy and support to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles for clients with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine behavioral needs and treatment goals
- Collect, analyze, and document data meticulously to track progress and inform treatment adjustments in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions
- Provide direct patient care by delivering behavioral therapy sessions tailored to each individual's needs
- Maintain accurate medical records, documentation of patient interactions, intake forms, and progress reports in accordance with medical terminology standards
- Support the intake process by assessing initial client needs and coordinating appropriate services within the behavioral health framework
Requirements
- Valid license as a Behavior Specialist or equivalent credential in accordance with state regulations
- Proven experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum
- Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy techniques, and special education strategies
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and electronic health records systems
- Ability to conduct patient assessments accurately and perform diagnostic evaluations effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with families, team members, and external providers
- Passion for patient care with a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities
