What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Spray Technician position at Thrive Outdoor Inc?
Individual must be personable and self-motivated, someone who can problem solve in a fast-paced environment. Technicians operate independently and must strive to make a difference with integrative pest and weed management while servicing residential and commercial clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Effective client communication and care
- Complete diagnostic reports
- Monitor, diagnose, and treat insect, disease, physiological, and cultural conditions
- Select the most appropriate product or treatment to be utilized for each problem
- Apply granular, liquid, and systemic applications
- Safely follow industry standards and regulations
- Valid State of Tennessee Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and meet physical/body position requirements as stated by the Americans with Disabilities Act Section 4.0.
- 1 years experience operating chemical spray application equipment with pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers
- Knowledge of tree and shrub species
- Ability to diagnose pest, nutrients, or other landscaping issues impacting landscaping and lawns
- Must posses a positive and professional working attitude
- Ability to handle highly sensitive clients in a respectful and courteous manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high volume, fast paced multitasking environment
- Strong work ethic and belief in personal accountability.
- Must work in a safe and efficient manner
Workday & Schedule:
Normal workdays are Monday through Friday, 6:00am-4:00pm. Workdays & hours may vary depending on weather conditions. Must be able to work a 5 day schedule, including weekends & holidays. A 30 minute paid lunch break is required if the workday exceeds 6 hours, two 10-15 minute paid breaks will be provided as necessary. Overtime may be available, but not guaranteed. Employer may increase wage based on experience and/or performance and tenure. A single work week will be used to compute wages due, pay is received weekly. Transportation is provided from main work site to multiple work sites associated within the branch’s specific location.

Employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform job. Required uniform provided.
