PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Thrive Freeze Dry
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and support our production operations at Thrive Freeze Dry. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing by monitoring employees, organizing workflows, and maintaining strong communication across departments. The Production Supervisor works closely with the Production Manager and Floor Supervisor to direct, coordinate, and support the day-to-day activities of the production department in the safe, cost-effective, and efficient manufacturing of products.
Responsibilities
Production Floor
Supervise production employees to ensure safe, efficient processing while meeting standards for output, quality, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and food safety.
Maintain a basic understanding of the freeze-drying process and proper handling of freeze-dried products.
Demonstrate the ability to operate production and packaging equipment.
Accurately complete production paperwork for all departments.
Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and shift assignments.
Recommend and help implement process or equipment improvements to enhance quality or efficiency.
Minimize rework or damaged product through proper employee training and oversight.
Delegate tasks, troubleshoot equipment or process issues, and take corrective or preventative action.
Ensure timely and accurate production reporting, including weights and lot-tracking details.
Collaborate effectively with other departments to support product quality and plant efficiency.
Provide hands-on support in all production departments as needed.
Ensure employees receive adequate training to reduce workplace injuries.
Enforce safe machine operation, proper work practices, and established safety procedures.
Uphold rigorous sanitation and product-handling standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Employee Engagement
Assist with onboarding and orientation of new employees.
Maintain consistent communication and promote a positive work environment.
Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to employees.
Model professionalism, proper hygiene, respectful behavior, and workspace cleanliness.
Address employee concerns and navigate difficult conversations when necessary.
Office
Organize and manage weekly and monthly employee schedules.
Lead daily shift huddles and monthly department meetings.
Maintain daily attendance tracking.
Complete weekly payroll review and submission.
Use Microsoft Office daily for reporting and communication.
Conduct employee reviews, one-on-ones, disciplinary actions, and incident reporting.
Enter daily production reports into the inventory system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma required; or
College degree in a technical, engineering, or related field (preferred).
Work Experience
2–3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing preferred.
Prior supervisory experience required.
Technical
Working knowledge of HACCP and GMP.
Basic Microsoft Office skills required.
Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
