We are seeking a motivated and passionate Community Outreach & Engagement Specialist to help establish Thrive CSS as a trusted and valued provider throughout the communities we serve.
Position Summary
The Community Outreach & Engagement Specialist is responsible for building relationships with support coordinators, families, referral sources, and stakeholders to promote Thrive CSS services and increase awareness of resources available to the IDD community. This role plays a key part in program growth, brand visibility, and strengthening community support networks.
Key Responsibilities-Community Engagement & Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, Supports Coordinators, advocacy groups, schools, employment agencies, and community organizations.
- Represent Thrive CSS at community events, resource fairs, meetings, and networking functions.
- Identify partnership opportunities that support individuals receiving services and overall agency growth.
- Promote person-centered values and support the inclusion of individuals with IDD in community life.
Outreach & Marketing
- Conduct outreach to raise awareness about Thrive CSS services across counties and regions we support.
- Develop and distribute outreach materials (flyers, brochures, presentations) in alignment with agency branding.
- Track outreach efforts and engagement metrics to guide strategy and growth priorities.
- Assist in managing social media or public-facing communication.
Referral & Intake Support
- Serve as a point of contact for initial inquiries from Supports Coordinators and families.
- Communicate service availability, program strengths, and agency mission clearly and professionally.
- Assist in coordinating or facilitating intake steps as needed.
Program Support
- Collaborate with leadership to identify unmet community needs and emerging service opportunities.
- Provide feedback from the field to improve programs and strengthen service delivery.
- Support new initiatives, community projects, and agency events.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Communications, Marketing, Psychology, or related field — or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with the IDD population within the PA ODP
- Prior experience in outreach, community engagement, case management, or social services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of individuals and professionals.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
