Job Description
Provides care, supervision, and support for infants and young children in a daycare, nursery, or early childhood setting. They create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, social, and developmental growth. Nursery workers assist with daily routines, educational activities, meals, hygiene needs, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of infants and young children
- Assist with feeding, diaper changing, and personal hygiene needs
- Plan and participate in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
- Support children's emotional, social, and developmental growth
- Observe and report children's progress, behavior, and any concerns to supervisors or parents
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment
- Follow health, safety, and childcare regulations and procedures
- Assist children during naps, meals, and daily routines
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff members
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and a caring attitude toward children
- Ability to multitask and supervise multiple children safely
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Pass a CCCBC Background check
- Complete childcare continuing education classes
- Complete Basic first aid and CPR certification
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow childcare policies and procedures
