Mine Superintendent – Gold Mining Operation (Arizona)

Compensation: $150,000 Annual Salary
Three Amigos Mining Investment is seeking an experienced Mine Superintendent to lead the restart and ongoing operation of our placer gold mining project in Southern Arizona.
This is an opportunity to join a growing operation at an exciting stage and play a key role in building the mine, assembling and managing crews, implementing operating plans, and driving production safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on mining professional with strong leadership skills, extensive surface mining experience, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations while helping establish long-term systems and processes for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute mine operating plans, including daily, 30-, 60-, and 90-day operational goals.
- Oversee all daily mining activities, production schedules, equipment utilization, and workforce management.
- Assist ownership with mine planning, site development, equipment selection, and operational strategy.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and manage mine personnel, contractors, and support staff.
- Ensure full compliance with MSHA, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and operational reviews.
- Maintain production records, timekeeping, equipment logs, and operational reporting.
- Coordinate with geologists, consultants, regulators, vendors, and ownership.
- Assist with Arizona mining permitting requirements, testing permits, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, recovery rates, safety performance, and operating costs.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of mining experience, with significant surface mining, placer mining, or open-pit mining experience preferred.
- Previous Mine Superintendent, Mine Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent leadership experience.
- Experience managing small- to mid-sized mining operations and working directly with ownership or investment groups is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading mine crews and managing day-to-day site operations.
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, production planning, maintenance coordination, and workforce management.
- Working knowledge of MSHA regulations, mine safety programs, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with Arizona mining regulations, permitting, and testing permits is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and help build a growing operation from the ground up.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with placer gold mining operations.
- Experience managing startup or restart mining projects.
- Familiarity with wash plants, material processing, and recovery systems.
- Experience developing operational budgets and production forecasts.
