What are the responsibilities and job description for the Measure Estimator position at Thornton Flooring?
The Measure Estimator is a field representative of Thornton Flooring and is responsible for surveying projects, measuring project dimensions, drawing the project into an iPad using estimating software. This position is responsible for communicating potential material and labor challenges, costs, quantities to sales team, customers and clients. Applies keen attention to detail and observation skills on-site at estimating flooring projects from a bird’s eye view in order to set our clients’ expectations accurately.
Responsibilities include:
- Review daily tasks and projects as assigned by the Measure Schedule Coordinator.
- Fulfill client appointments in a timely manner.
- Assess projects by identifying project requirements, measuring room dimensions, existing conditions, detailing the scope of work including floor vents, transitions and recommended subfloor requirements.
- Verify customer name, address and phone number and scope of work.
- Maintain contact with customers in order to schedule, remind and follow-up on appointments.
- Add, cancel, or make changes to appointments in the organization’s schedule.
- Resolve appointment conflicts for staff, customers or clients.
- Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.
- Maintain thorough records of all project documentation including drawings, pictures and notes as well as overall accuracy of project dimensions.
- Assist sales team with final project preparation transactions.
