What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting/Finance Intern position at Thompson Safety, LLC?
Job Summary:
The Accounting/Finance Intern will get exposure to a variety of areas within the department with a focus on learning and executing industry skills on a variety of tasks and projects throughout the internship.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- N/A
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares journal entries and executes other data entry tasks.
- Assist with reconciliations
- Assist with financial reporting and other accounting functions.
- Assist with AR/AP functions.
- Learn about accounting & finance principles, procedures, and software.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Currently enrolled in or completed college courses that reviewed financial preparation and analysis accounting functions.
- Exposure to balance and income statements.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on the phone, attending virtual online meetings, and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
