What are the responsibilities and job description for the PREP FINISHER I position at Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Company?
Summary: Prepare pump units to be painted, re-assemble units, assist painting units, and prepare pump units for shipment.
- Follow instructions from Supervisors and Painters.
- Wash, sand and prep frames.
- Clean frames, prep engines and units for painting.
- Apply protective coverings, such as masking tape to areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes.
- After unit is painted, remove tape and paper, reassemble units, touch up paint and high lite areas of importance with contrasting paint.
- Reinstall all components (after touchup) which were removed, apply the appropriate labels, decals and nameplates in a straight and proper order.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Trade school graduate preferred
- Basic math skills.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and measuring devices.
- Must be able to read and understand Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook.
