Job Description:
A Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager will act as the Superintendent’s “Right Hand” by assisting them with several aspects of Thompson’s excavation, earthmoving, and dirt work projects.
Additional Duties Include:
- Performing various administrative tasks throughout the course of projects
- Acting as on-site liaison between field personnel and office support staff
- Managing project documentation (certificates, waivers, warranties, bids, etc.)
- Collaborating with general contractors, developers and property owners
- Preparing and analyzing bid packages from contractors and subcontractors
- Assisting with general labor force training, evaluations, and orientations
- Evaluating site conditions to identify safety hazards and logistical challenges
- Drafting, pricing, and processing change orders and potential scope changes
- Attending post-project evaluations to identify “lessons learned” for the future
Experience, Education & Requirements:
- Proven Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager experience in excavation
- Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant during construction projects
- Strong communication, analytical and computer skills (MS Office & Bluebeam)
- Must be certified in both OSHA 10 and CPR & First Aid (will train, if necessary)
- Must possess a Valid DL and be able to drive company vehicle(s), if needed
