Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Development
- Learn and apply sound engineering practices and professional standards to daily work assignments.
- Utilize computers, engineering software, handbooks, and emerging technologies to support engineering tasks.
- Perform basic engineering calculations, develop reports, and assist with coordination between multiple technical disciplines.
- Conduct work in an organized, accurate, and productive manner while maintaining attention to detail.
- Assist with preliminary design efforts, project planning, and engineering analyses related to design and construction projects.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications, cost estimates, material estimates, engineering reports, and studies.
- Compile project data and present findings clearly to team members and project stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, collect field data, and support project development.
- Assist senior engineers with field observations, documentation, and reporting.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal team members, clients, and external stakeholders through phone calls and email.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to support project execution.
- Recognize knowledge limitations and seek guidance when necessary to ensure quality work.
- Follow company safety procedures and quality standards on all projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly express technical ideas.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and willingness to learn through hands-on project work.
- Internship or early career experience in engineering, construction project management or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with engineering design tools, spreadsheets, PDF editing tools, and project documentation processes.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and occasional overnight travel as required by project needs.
- Ability to operate a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors and in field environments, including walking on uneven or unstable surfaces such as concrete, grass, dirt, or gravel.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
