Position Title: Technology Education Teacher (820 Licensure Preferred)
Location: Thomasville High School
Term: 10-Month Position
Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule (Based on State and Local Guidelines)
Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Technology Education Teacher will plan, organize, and deliver an instructional program aligned to North Carolina Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards within the Technology Education (820) licensure area.
This position focuses on teaching courses within technology, engineering, and design-based pathways including, but not limited to, Graphic Design, 3D Modeling, Game Art Design, and Advanced Manufacturing. Instruction may include Adobe Creative Suite, computer science principles, engineering design processes, manufacturing concepts, and emerging technologies.
The teacher will create a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and real-world application of skills. Emphasis will be placed on preparing students for postsecondary education and careers in high-demand technical fields
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement standards-based lesson plans aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study and CTE Essential Standards
- Deliver engaging instruction using project-based learning and industry-relevant tools
- Integrate technology and real-world applications into daily instruction
- Support students in earning industry-recognized credentials where applicable
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment
- Collaborate with CTE staff, counselors, and administration to support student success and program growth
- Maintain accurate student records and adhere to district and state policies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of emerging trends, resources, and technologies related to engineering design and advanced manufacturing
- Experience or familiarity with 3D design, modeling, and/or animation preferred
- Knowledge of computer-generated technology, digital design tools, and electronics
- Understanding of NC CTE Essential Standards and Common Core standards
- Proficiency in common desktop applications (web browsing, word processing, image editing, etc.)
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for diverse learners
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Technology Education, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Preferred: Experience in engineering, digital design, industrial design, construction, manufacturing, or project development

Certification and Licensure
- Must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina 820 Technology Education license or 765 Computer Science and IT license
