Retail Food Service Manager - Healthcare | Location: Kalispell, MT 59901

Compensation: $70,000-$75,000 annually 5% bonus potential | Full-Time

Schedule: Mostly Monday-Friday (depending on the needs of the account). Some weekend and holiday coverage required.

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Retail Food Service Manager to oversee daily retail dining operations at Logan Health Kalispell. This leader will ensure an engaging and consistent guest experience through fresh ingredients, scratch-made cuisine, accurate merchandising, and thoughtful hospitality. You will lead and develop the retail team, maintain strong operational and financial controls, uphold food safety and quality standards, and identify opportunities to improve sales, service, and team engagement. This role is ideal for a visible, solutions-focused leader who is passionate about people, retail operations, and creating meaningful experiences through REAL food.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily retail operations while maintaining a visible, approachable presence across all service areas.
• Conduct operational walkthroughs to ensure TC retail, grab-and-go, cleanliness, safety, merchandising, and product-rotation standards are consistently met.
• Ensure team members are properly uniformed, knowledgeable about daily offerings, and prepared to deliver friendly, informed service.
• Maintain accurate pricing, signage, barcodes, and product information across retail systems and displays.
• Lead daily huddles, reinforce HACCP, ServSafe, sanitation, and 6S practices, and address operational challenges with a solutions-focused approach.
• Hire, schedule, train, coach, and cross-train team members while promoting accountability, engagement, and recognition.
• Oversee cashier controls, ordering, inventory, invoices, food costs, waste, payroll, and month-end financial activities.
• Partner with culinary leadership on menu offerings, catering, retail promotions, and REAL food initiatives.
• Review sales and menu-mix performance to guide pricing, product selection, and continuous improvement.
• Engage with guests and client leadership, resolve concerns, and support special projects and coverage needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED and previous leadership experience in retail food service, hospitality, restaurant, healthcare dining, or a related environment.
• Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, inventory, ordering, cash controls, budgeting, and food-cost management.
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and quality standards.
• Proven ability to lead, train, schedule, coach, and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use sales and operational information to improve pricing, product offerings, and financial performance.
• Comfort using point-of-sale systems, digital signage, barcodes, and operational reporting tools.
• ServSafe Manager Certification, or the ability to obtain it, and applicable state or county food handler certification.
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

This position works in a fast-paced retail food service environment with regular exposure to commercial kitchen and service equipment, cleaning chemicals, moderate noise, heat, steam, and temperature fluctuations. The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and regularly bend, reach, stoop, twist, and move throughout retail and production areas.
