Job Description:

The Industrial Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing production efficiency, product quality, and workflow across all manufacturing areas, including Heat Treat, Machining, and Assembly. This position partners with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to identify and implement improvements in processes, equipment utilization, and manufacturing methods. The goal is to increase throughput, reduce waste, and ensure consistent quality at the source.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Analyze and optimize end-to-end manufacturing processes—from heat treatment and machining to final assembly and delivery.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce scrap, and strengthen product quality at the point of manufacture.
• Support capital equipment planning by forecasting new CNC machine needs, developing cost-benefit analyses, and tracking projects from order through installation and validation.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects using data-driven methodologies to improve process flow and reduce variation.
• Partner with Quality to better integrate inspection systems into production, with a specific focus on implementing hexagon scanner data for in-process verification.
• Develop standardized work procedures, visual aids, training, and documentation for process control.
• Analyze downtime and defect trends, providing actionable solutions to operations and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to ensure optimal machine performance and process capability.
• Provide training and coaching to production teams on new processes, equipment, and continuous improvement methods.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and process optimization.
• Proficiency in Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Proficient in CAD/CAM software, CNC programming principles, and software is a plus.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Excel or equivalent).

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production planning, program coordination, or manufacturing operations (aerospace preferred).
• Prior experience with government or commercial aerospace programs a plus.
• Familiarity with line of balance, schedule management, and MRP demand planning.
• Experience representing businesses in relationships with government agencies is a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
