Thomas Industrial Fabrication is seeking dependable and hardworking Industrial Field Staff to join our installation crews. This role involves traveling to job sites to assist with fabrication, installation, and maintenance of industrial equipment and systems.
This is a hands-on position for individuals who are comfortable working in the field, traveling during the week, and contributing to a team that values quality, safety, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with field installation of fabricated metal systems and equipment
- Read and interpret basic drawings, layouts, and measurements
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Support maintenance and repair work on industrial systems
- Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment for jobs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on-site
- Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
Travel Expectations
- Travel required within approximately a 5-hour radius of Floyd, VA
- Crews typically work out of town during the week and return home on weekends
- Overnight stays required depending on job location
- Transportation and travel pay provided
Qualifications
- Experience in metal fabrication, construction, or industrial work preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and equipment
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, climbing, standing)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Safety-focused mindset
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license required
