Ocean Import Operator A-Z
Location: Full-Time, In-Office
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually (based on experience)
Key Responsibilitie
- Manage ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery
- Coordinate with overseas agents, steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, and customers
- Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to clients
- Review and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Arrival Notices, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists
- Arrange and coordinate drayage, warehousing, and final delivery services
- Track and troubleshoot shipment delays, exceptions, and service issues
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry within the transportation management system
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and verify vendor invoices
- Maintain shipment files and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and service providers

Qualificatio
- Minimum 2–5 years of ocean import freight forwarding experience
- Proven ability to manage shipments independently from cradle to grave
- Strong understanding of ocean import operations and documentation
- Experience coordinating deliveries, trucking, and warehouse services
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
- Proficiency with freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of customs clearance processes is helpful, but this position does not include customs entry filing responsibilities
