This role is a Freight Forwarding Branch Management position in the New York City Metropolitan area.
The successful candidate will hold experience in Air, Ocean and Ocean Operations Business Development experience within the Freight Forwarding sector.
Operations & Leadership
- Lead all branch functions including operations, customer service, sales, HR, and administration
- Set operational forecasts, financial objectives, and business plans
- Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
- Oversee hiring, performance management, development, and disciplinary actions
- Foster a positive, high-performance workplace culture aligned with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards
- Maintain strong internal and external relationships with teams, customers, and suppliers
- Monitor workflows and resource allocation to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
- Identify operational improvements and implement corrective actions
- Address customer and employee issues promptly and effectively
Sales & Business Development
- Lead and coach sales activity, including prospecting, pipeline management, and performance reviews
- Assess market conditions and identify new business opportunities
- Manage and support a defined sales territory alongside the branch sales team
- Track sales activity and performance through CRM systems
- Develop value-added solutions and support pricing and cost-benefit analysis
- Support onboarding and transition of new customer accounts
- Assist with accounts receivable collections when required
- Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and industry developments
