Sacred Heart Residence – Mobile, operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor, is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The Receptionist is often the first person our residents, families, visitors, and community members encounter, making this a meaningful role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our Home.
We are looking for someone who is professional, patient, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys working with older adults.
Schedule
Part-time | Non-Exempt
Applicants must be available to work:
- Evening shifts
- Night shifts
- Every other weekend
- Occasional holidays as needed
This is an on-site position. Flexibility in scheduling is important because the Front Desk provides coverage for our Home around the clock.
What You'll Do
As our Front Desk Receptionist, you will:
- Welcome residents, families, visitors, vendors, and other guests with warmth and courtesy.
- Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls and take accurate messages.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by following visitor sign-in procedures and established security protocols.
- Monitor the reception area and building activity and respond appropriately to security concerns.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations according to established procedures.
- Listen to residents and families with patience and empathy and help direct their questions or concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Help maintain a peaceful, welcoming, and organized reception area.
- Maintain accurate information such as resident names and room numbers, emergency contacts, department extensions, and key personnel.
- Assist with basic clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
- Work cooperatively with nursing, administrative, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of resident, family, employee, and organizational information.
- Follow all safety, infection-control, security, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties that support the needs and mission of the Home.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous reception, customer service, healthcare, senior living, or long-term care experience preferred
- Experience working with older adults is a plus
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency procedures is helpful
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
