Position Summary
The Welding Fabricator is responsible for building, assembling, and modifying metal components used in scenic sets, custom props, and structural elements. This temporary, project-based role requires strong welding and fabrication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on both standard and highly creative builds in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities

Fabricate metal components for scenic elements, support structures, frames, and custom builds.

Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding based on project needs.

Cut, fit, grind, and assemble materials according to drawings and design specifications.

Interpret shop drawings, sketches, and verbal direction to execute builds accurately.

Modify, reinforce, and repair fabricated pieces as needed.

Collaborate with scenic, carpentry, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of components.

Support on-site installation, adjustments, and repairs when required.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following shop safety protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Hands-on experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.

Experience in metal fabrication within a shop, construction, or custom-build environment.

Ability to read drawings and work from design concepts.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.

Capable of lifting 50 lbs consistently and performing physical shop work.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in scenic fabrication, themed entertainment, or custom set/prop builds.

Welding certification (preferred but not required).

Familiarity with production-based fabrication and scenic construction methods.

OSHA or general shop safety knowledge.
Additional Requirements

Compensation
$25–$40 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
