Position Summary

In the case of any major mechanical or electrical failure, the technician is expected to report to the Manager or Chief Technician.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily checklist on Air Compressors, D.I Water Units, Boilers, Forklifts and Softener Systems, maintaining correct fluid levels on machines and inspect by checking the pneumatic lines, oil and water lines, brine tanks, steam lines.
- Weekly checklist on backup Generators maintaining correct fluid levels inspect and run the unit.
- Monthly checklist on Emergency lights, Air filters and buildings lighting.
- Ensure that the facility areas are always clean and free from hazardous objects or substances.
- The technician may not be required to perform installation of new facilities but may be asked to assist the supervisor in monitoring the installation process carried out by external technicians and subcontractors, to ensure compliance with required standards.
- The Technician also assists such external technicians in major installations and repairs.
- The Technician is required to keep accurate record of all his work activities.
- In addition, the Preventive Maintenance Technician must maintain good communication with the members of the technical team and the management.
- Must comply with all necessary safety measures while discharging his duties to prevent accidents, injury or damage to facility equipment or materials.
- The PPM Technician will also help as Maintenance Expediter for parts used by Daily Maintenance.
- Exhibit and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors.
- High School Graduate or GED desired but not required.
- Three (3) years of maintenance experience in the petrochemical field preferred.
- Must be able to read and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Must be able to read and interpret an MSDS, also know the location of the MSDS book.
- Knowledge of our quality policy and objectives
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The team member is occasionally required to sit.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200500 pounds.

- The team member must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- This position typically requires working five days per week, with occasional sevenday workweeks. Standard shifts are eight hours, but overtime may be required, sometimes extending up to sixteen hours in a single day.
